Inga finished her Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering at the University of Luebeck in Germany in 2014. For Inga’s bachelor’s project, she developed and characterised superparamagnetic coatings for application in magnetic particle imaging (MPI) at the Institute of Medical Engineering at the University of Luebeck.

Continuing her Master’s degree, Inga completed a 14-month research project as part of an internship here at the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Macquarie University. During this time Inga validated of a novel tissue engineering tumor model tested on chick embryo chorioallantoic membrane and nanoparticle application using automated image processing techniques. She received her Master’s degree in 2016 in biomedical engineering at the University of Luebeck, Germany and started her PhD at Macquarie University in 2017.

Inga is currently investigating the formation dynamics of the protein corona on different types of nanoparticles using different microscopic and spectrophotometer techniques such as Raman, atomic force, and transmission electron microscopy.

Update: Dr. Kuschnerus graduated from MQ in 2021 and is now a post-doctoral Research Fellow at UNSW (Sydney, Australia)
